Enduring Faith in Georgia

The Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe is restoring the Church after years of oppression and poverty. See how Catholics in the village of Arali in Georgia kept the faith during years of persecution. After the restoration of their church, they're now able to celebrate Mass as a community.

Maggie's Story

Maggie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and strongly opposes assisted suicide. Hear this story of a strong woman with much left to give to her family and society. She has a powerful story of hope and courage - and that no doctor can put a timetable on anyone's life.

John’s Story: Beyond Independence

Born without arms, John Foppe speaks to a way of life beyond independence, namely inter-dependence: Together we are more. Assisted suicide sells everyone short, so in times of illness or disability, he encourages us to “step into life!”

You don’t discourage suicide by assisting suicide. “Every suicide is tragic – whether you’re old or young, healthy or sick, your life is worth living,” says Luke Maxwell, 19, who survived an attempt to take his own life.

Jeanette’s Story: 15 Years Later

In 2000, when Oregon resident, Jeanette Hall, had less than a year to live, she asked her cancer doctor for the pills to commit suicide. Dr. Kenneth Stevens got to know her better and inspired her to consider treatment. The tumor just “melted away” and now -- 15 years later -- Jeanette says: “It’s great to be alive!”

Into Trump's America: 9 Counties That Will Define a Presidency

(A Collaboration With the Washington Examiner)

Into Trump’s America was an ambitious, special, four-year reporting project by writer and editor Daniel Allott and his twin brother, documentary filmmaker Jordan Allott. It monitored the pulse of the Trump presidency with deep, personal, long-form reporting in 9 key counties around the nation. These counties helped deliver the presidency to the maverick Republican candidate on Nov. 8, 2016 and they will determine whether he is a success or a failure.

The response of voters in these counties will gauge how President Trump’s agenda and performance resonate with the men and women who will be crucial in deciding whether he should win re-election in 2020 or be deemed a failure and thrown out after just one term in the Oval Office.

IAP presents at the JFK Forum at Harvard’s Institute of Politics

Daniel Allott, Deputy Commentary Editor at The Washington Examiner, and Jordan Allott, documentary filmmaker and founder of In Altum Productions, addressed the forum in an event moderated by Tyler Bridges, an award-winning journalist and author. Daniel and Jordan Allott spoke about their project, The Race to 2020, and the importance of documenting the views and roles of ordinary citizens in the election of 2016. With America’s political polarization on the rise, Daniel and Jordan Allott seek to understand what led to the outcome of the 2016 election in a longitudinal study of nine counties key to the election of Donald Trump. Almost a year into their project, the Allott brothers have found that two common reasons for people having voted Trump on the 2016 ballot were hope and change-for a variety of reasons ranging from a resurgence of American values to a strong economy to a transformation from the traditional Washington establishment.
